What’s This? Dust!

Time flies.

My last posting was from 2015 and right now we just dropped into Valentine’s day 2020. Five years… and this blog has been gathering a little bit of dust. So let me try to clean up this place a bit, blow that dust of this thing, get a broom and just do that nicely and welcome you back in as I have been ignoring my guests for far too long.

Blowing dust off Bible

I haven’t been sitting still, and in that time I have been moving through two companies, published some major productions into schools around the country, and left the bordering area around the Delaware river to move deeper into our new little piece of heaven deeper into the state.

So let me pull up a chair for you…

Looking back now, a lot of old(er) postings feel outdated – and let’s be honest – they are outdated. But it would only show a good sign-of-the-times about how everything changes – especially in the world of IT.

The last time I wrote my words down I was looking for a job as I tried to figure out the changed world of actually getting a job in the 2010’s. For about 10 years I lead the team of designers, developers of a small marketing firm but also realized later on that I lived a bit in a bubble – when you work with people that like to work with you – it is amazing, but sometimes you need a few healthy checks on the world around you. And I wasn’t always doing that. And I realized that my opinions about technology sometimes became skewed because of it.

I know I am not the only one with that problem. Once you are in a position where you are comfortable, your team is awesome and listens to you and do what you ask, it is easy to think you know what you are doing.

But sometimes you need not to be comfortable. Shake it up a little. Because this world of IT is changing more rapidly than you can imagine – and how should you keep track.

So I like to re-invite you to start following, and sharing some insights and rantings of a now mid-forties lead in IT, trying still to make things work while heading into almost every direction.
